LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Immaculata University volleyball team received the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for maintaining a team grade point average of at least 3.30 for the entire 2009-10 academic year.

Immaculata’s academic success in 2009-10 was bolstered by seven CSAC All-Academic Team members: Katiemarie Gale, Kelly Langley, Jayme Lenosky, Nicole Preziuso, Amanda Pritchard, Tabitha Reilly and Courtney Sahm. Lenosky also was selected to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team.

The award, which was first instituted in 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball programs that display academic excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average.

Immaculata was one of 75 NCAA Division III Women’s Volleyball programs to receive the honor this season and one of an AVCA-record 450 teams overall. The 450 awards were the most in the 18-year history of the AVCA Team Academic Award.
