RADNOR, Pa. – Senior attack Amanda Alexandrowicz (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley HS) has been named to the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Metro Region First Team, the organization announced today. Senior attack Erin Nollen (West Chester, Pa./Henderson HS) and senior goalkeeper Kate Schmid (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert’s HS) have received IWLCA Metro Region Second Team accolades.
Alexandrowicz powered the Cavaliers’ offense in 2010 with a career-best 89 points, scoring 64 goals and handing out 25 assists. She was named the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Player of the Year and claimed first-team all-conference honors.
Alexandrowcz concluded her Cabrini tenure with 263 career points on 210 goals and 53 assists. She surpassed the 200 career point barrier against Rowan University (March 23) and scored her 200th career goal versus Marywood University (May 5). Alexandrowicz earned IWLCA Metro Region Second Team laurels in 2009.
Also an IWLCA Metro Region Second Team selection one year ago, Nollen listed second on the team with 74 points on 55 goals and 19 assists. Nollen claimed CSAC First Team honors for the third straight season.
Nollen neared the 300 career point plateau while with the Blue & White, tallying 294 on 226 goals and 68 assists. She netted the 200th goal of her career at Centenary College (April 14). Nollen was selected the CSAC Player of the Year in 2008.
Schmid notched a 10.62 goals-against average and .490 save percentage in her final season with the Cavaliers in 2010. She is a four-time CSAC First Team honoree.
Schmid wrapped up her Cabrini career with 49 total victories in between pipes, owning a 10.24 goals-against average and .523 save percentage. She posted 742 career saves.
The Cabrini women’s lacrosse team captured the CSAC title for the 10th time in program history and for the second straight season in 2010. The Cavaliers made their eighth appearance all-time in the NCAA Tournament, falling in the first round, 19-7, against No. 6 The College of New Jersey.
