Post Season Awards Pile Up for Neumann's Zach Sell

ASTON, Pa. – Zach Sell, of the Neumann University men’s soccer team, has been honored with three more post-season awards, for the 2009 season. 

Sell was named the Defensive Player of the year in the ECAC Division III South and named to the First Team All-Stars, as voted on by the coaches. 

The junior was also named to the 2009 Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area men’s soccer team for the second consecutive season. This award is voted on by the sports information offices of the 28 area institutions. 

Sell’s third honor is being named to the third team Academic All-America team for CoSIDA. The student-athlete must have a 3.3 cumulative grade point average and participate in at least 50 percent of the contests. 

From Baltimore, Md., Sell is majoring in Athletic Training with a minor in Strength and Conditioning.

The junior defender helped the team to a 7-1-1 conference record, 9-9-2 overall. He had seven goals and four assists for 18 points.

Sell was previously named the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Player of the Year and earned first-team all-conference honors.
