Allentown, PA (January 13, 2010) – For the first time ever, Cedar
Crest College welcomed 70 women coaches from colleges and universities
from up and down the East Coast for a one-day NCAA Women Coaches Academy
on Tuesday, January 12.

The NCAA Women Coaches Academy provides skills training for coaches at
all levels to assist them in being more efficient, productive,
resourceful and successful.

The participants learned skills that are not sport specific, yet ones
that are relevant and necessary for coaching responsibilities, from such
names as Celia Slater, Bo Hanson and Ann Salerno. Slater, a former NCAA
basketball coach, is the founder of the Women Coaches Academy and also
runs various programming through the NCAA. Hanson is a four-time rowing
Olympian from Australia that specializes in athlete assessments. Salerno
is a Women Coaches Academy instructor and works with companies all over
the world in the area of conflict resolution.

Coaches representing 14 different sports that were from Division I, II,
and III schools took part in the one-day event.
