Senior forward Sabina DeGisi has been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Mid-Atlantic Region Third Team, the association announced Monday. DeGisi led the Cabrini women’s soccer team with a team-best 38 points on 18 goals and two assists.
DeGisi earned Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Second Team honors, posting 29 points on 14 goals and one assist in league competition. Overall, she recorded at least one goal in 10 games, including three contests with three scores.
DeGisi did not play in the NCAA Tournament against Johns Hopkins University due to a season-ending leg injury suffered during the CSAC semifinal match versus Centenary College.
In 76 career games at Cabrini, DeGisi totaled 138 points on 62 goals and 14 assists. She is a three-time CSAC First Team honoree.
Cabrini captured its first CSAC title since the 2003 season with a 1-0 overtime win against top seed Marywood University Nov. 7. The Cavaliers finished the 2009 season with a 14-6-1 overall record, including a streak of 12 consecutive wins.
