Colonial States Athletic Conference Announces Men's Soccer Regular Season Awards

Aston, PA, November 1, 2009 – The Colonial States Athletic Conference announced the recipients of the Player, Rookie, and Coach of the Year; First, Second and Honorable Mention All-Conference teams and individual sportsmanship awards.

 Neumann University’s junior Zach Sell (Baltimore, MD/Loyola Blakefield) was named the Colonial States Athletic Conference’s 2009 Player of the Year. After regular season play, Sell is tied in first on the team with 7 goals (tied in 4th overall in the conference) and assists (3). The junior started in 16 of the 17 games played in regular season, leads the team with 17 points (tied in 5th place in the conference) and is #4 in points per game (1.06) in the CSAC. Sells was named CSAC Player of the Week for the week ending October 4th. Sell lead the Knights to a 7-1-1 record to get the number two seed heading into the CSAC playoffs.
 Neumann University’s Nathan Beideman (Parkesbueg, PA/Octorara) was named the Colonial States Athletic Conference’s 2009 Rookie of the Year. After starting in all 17 games played, the freshman contributed 2 goals, 5 points and 23 shots on goal in regular season play. The two goals that Beideman scored were conference game winning goals for the Knights.
 Rosemont College’s Will Nord was named the Colonial States Athletic Conference’s 2009 Coach of the YearWill Nord stepped into the head coach position for the 2009 inaugural season at Rosemont College. After Rosemont embarked on a massive strategic planning initiative during the 2008-2009 year following the decision to transition to co-education in 2009-2010 then men’s soccer team was created. Nord received his first win as head coach in their first game of the season against Valley Forge Christian College (1-0) on September 5th. The Ravens ended regular season play with a 3-6 conference record and were one win shy of making it into CSAC post-season play.
